Clair Convery, RTY 200 (R6)

Clair moved to Vernon with her family in 2016, and they love the lifestyle that Vernon has to offer. Clair has worked in the healthcare field as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for 12+ years in rural settings of BC and the Northwest Territories. She currently employed here, in Vernon, as a community care nurse.
Since 2013, she has gained a specific interest in trauma and the effects it has on the body. Clair has taken additional training and acquired certifications in wellness to advance her knowledge of how to use the body as a healthy resource for resilience and healing. In 2015 she acquired her 200 YTT certification and has completed the Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma & Resilience program at Langara College. Clair has recently graduated from the 600 HR Yoga Therapy Certification Program from Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, offered out of Vancouver, BC. She intends to continue on the C-IAYT track, so that she can offer 8-week group programs and work with couples.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy facilitates the client’s authentic experience of body, mind and emotions in present time and space with the use of embodied mindfulness, breathwork, gentle somatic exploration, client-centered dialogue, and the cultivation of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Some of the benefits of receiving a 1:1 yoga therapy session include: improved ability to self-regulate the emotions of anxiety &/or depression, to help manage the imprints of trauma, to process grief, to cultivate ones’ own compassion for self and others, and to promote a deepened awareness of your own body’s meaning of well being. Yoga therapy is an excellent therapy on its own, or as a conjunctive therapy with other modalities.

“Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going on inside of you.”
