Laurie has worked in the field of social work for over a decade in supportive and leadership roles alongside a diverse range of individuals. She has experience in the areas of trauma, abuse, grief, loss, life stage issues/transitions, interpersonal conflict, anxiety, depression, victimology, caregiver fatigue, and end of life support. She has provided supportive counselling to individuals and families and has developed and facilitated therapeutic programming, groups, and training.

Laurie practices from a person-centered and strengths-base perspective utilizing solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, and attachment theory. She is passionate about empowering individuals to develop the skills they need to effectively navigate challenges and stressors in their lives.

Education:
• Bachelor of Education, Memorial University
• Bachelor of Social Work, Memorial University, Dean’s List
• Master of Social Work, Memorial University, Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies
