healing process. Along with other health issues, Noah often treats acute and chronic pain,
children and moms, digestive and genito-urinary disorders, and emotional health.
Noah’s passion for acupuncture began twenty years ago with experiencing its therapeutic
successes first hand while studying in Asia. He returned to live in China and study Mandarin,
Chinese massage, and qigong. Later he completed graduate studies in human geography,
researching environmental health in indigenous communities in southwest China, and went on
to study Chinese medicine and acupuncture at Pacific Rim College here in Victoria.
He remains amazed by the ways that different understandings of people and place support
deeper insights into medicine and health, and feels honoured to have the opportunity to help
you and your health.
Currently practicing in James Bay and Fernwood, he’s excited to join Cascadia Massage and Health Centre and practice close to home.
Outside the clinic, Noah loves raising a family, growing lots of food, and exploring the wild.
Please feel free to contact him with any questions or concerns.
She loves treating all kinds of cases and has a special interest in learning more about dermatology, auto-immune diseases and chronic conditions among other things. Continuously on the quest for learning new techniques and modalities, she likes integrating the different tools in Chinese medicine like gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, tuina, diet and lifestyle recommendations into her treatments.
She recently completed her training in Mei Zen facial acupuncture with Dr.Martha Lucas, in addition to having previously learnt the Acusculpt method from Illya Borreson, and will be bringing in facial acupuncture treatment sessions to her schedule soon.
On her own time she loves doing outdoor activities, checking out consignment stores, animal watching and enjoying sunny days at the beach.
Sophia’s treatment style involves treatment from a bio-psycho-social perspective (considering the whole person). The foundation of her treatment perspective is working with the nervous system to cultivate a feeling of safety, deep relaxation and rest, as it is, in her experience, from this place that our bodies tend to heal most effectively. Sophia is continuously learning more about pain science and evidence based practice as an ever evolving field to apply to practice.
Sophia uses a variety of techniques, but tends to treat slowly, using general Swedish techniques, rhythmic movements and compressions, working with the breath and the nervous system of each individual she is working with.
She enjoys working with patients to reduce feelings of pain and improve movement and general feelings of well-being.
He graduated from the College for Massage Therapy in December 2021. Prior to training to become an RMT, he learned and practiced Bio-Dynamic Breathwork for several years, a system that uses breath to help release tension in the body. There he learned how the breath and therapeutic touch can be used to create great mental, emotional and physiological change. This led him to expanding his practice in the realm of massage, where he now uses his knowledge to support patients in finding a sense of alignment.
