About
Please note:
There are dogs in the house so this may not be suitable for those with severe allergies. Kyla is visually impaired and may have a guide dog in the treatment room in the future.
There is a flight of stairs between the front door and the treatment room, so it may not be a great fit for those with mobility issues. Kyla will do her best to assist where she can.
This is a child and baby friendly space. You are welcome to bring pre-mobile infants and older children with you if needed.
Kyla (she/her) has been a registered massage therapist since 2010. She graduated from the 3000-hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. She has a wide range of experience ranging from athletes to pregnancy, post injury recovery to everyday tension. Having taken many continuing education courses on prenatal and postpartum treatment, as well as experiencing pregnancy for herself multiple times, she has a strong interest in pregnancy and new parent care. She has worked in many multidisciplinary clinics, both in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, and is excited to be opening her own practice in her new community of Coquitlam.
Her studies in osteopathy over the past decade have influenced her practice. She integrates the philosophy and techniques such as craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, myofascial release, and joint mobilizations to help get to the root of pain and tension and promote healing. Kyla will complete her final year at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice in 2025.
We acknowledge that Rooted Wellness operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation). We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below.
